Cake in a Mug Recipes Review

Hi everybody! It’s Kaitlyn here and today I did some cooking! It wasn’t the usual type of cooking. Today I made three different recipes for cake in a mug.  READ TILL THE END for the reviews on each recipe before cooking.
The first recipe I found was on YouTube by the user of Rafael Gomez. Here is the recipe and my review. These are opinions by my mom and I and our results.

YouTube cake in a mug

2 tbsp. of sugar

2 tbsp. Self-rising Flour

2 tbsp. of cocoa

     1 egg

1 tbsp. of oil (not specified but I used veg. oil)

1 tbsp. milk

Chocolate chips (optional)

Get a mug. Any size will do, but big mugs give the best results.

Mix flour sugar and cocoa together.

Add the egg be sure egg is mixed in really good!!!!!

After the egg is well mixed, in add the oil and milk and chocolate chips if you want

Stir for 1 minute

Microwave for 2 and a half minutes

Voila! You have a cake!

Let me just tell you, this cake is… this cake is… the worst cake. I did not like it here is why.

  1. It was really ‘egg-y’. I dropped it on my plate it bounced. (Insert serious face) I’m not kidding.
  2. It was not very sweet. I put barely any chocolate in it and the recipe did not call for vanilla.
  3. I could tell from the time I put it in my mouth something was missing. I didn’t know what but there was.

When I took it out of the microwave I said, “this smells really good.” It did smell really good but it tasted not good.

OKAY on to the next recipe

This was another recipe I got from YouTube called

“Chocolate cake in a mug” made by Kaboom989’s channel. Let’s get started

Big mug

4 tbsp. of flour

4 tbsps. sugar

*mix as you go*

2 tbsp. chocolate milk mix

1 egg mix well

3 tbsps. Milk and veg. oil

Chocolate chips

Mix well

Put in microwave for 2 1\2 minutes.

This one was okay, better the last one. I added way to many chocolate chips. It was moist, tasted like cake, and had flavor.

Last cake

This one came from Pinterest. I can’t find the exact pin, but I will post it when I do.

2 tbsp. flour

2 tsp. of cocoa powder

3 ½ tsp. sugar

¼ tsp. baking soda

Pinch of salt

1 tbsp. vegetable oil

2 tbsp. milk

Spoon full of peanut butter

Chocolate chips

Spray mug with cooking spray.

Put all dry ingredients in a mug and mix well

Add milk and oil mix well

Put a scoop of peanut butter on top

Add chocolate chips in top

Cook in microwave for 45 seconds.

This is my favorite one of the three. Try it for yourself! It taste really good. You must add the peanut butter for that extra UMPH!

East Texas Fun!

Hello people of the World Wide Web! It’s Kaitlyn here. While I sit here (on the couch) eating Belly Flops, I realized that I have not blogged in four days… well sorry. I was in the fabulous town of New York City. I’m just kidding! I was in this small town in East Texas, the town that we are moving to. I did a lot of fun stuff.

We were there since Tuesday (today is Friday) On Wednesday I got to see how our new house was moving along (I would say pretty well). My room is blue. It’s a sort of a baby blue color. It’s really pretty. I got to meet one of my dad’s co-worker, too. She was really nice. We went to this restaurant that was not very good and it was overpriced. I ordered shrimp and Alfredo noodles. The shrimp still had the tails on them. Eww! I took the tails off, but it was not the way I would have wanted it. After that I got to get a new pair of riding boots. I’m just now starting to learn to ride.

On Thursday was my riding lesson. I got to ride Ruby, she is a really sweet horse. I learned how to turn and go faster than I did the last time (but not that fast– just semi-gallop.) I also saw the other horses in the barn. My dad’s favorite horse there is named Pepe.

After my riding lesson, my dad said that there were kittens up for adoption. We went to the vet to take a look. The lady said she that there was only one left, but there were more at a foster home. The one that was still there was black and white. The black made him look like he had a mask on his face. We were so close to getting him. I had already named him–Linus was going to be his name. The lady went to go get his food and came out with two cans of cat food and said, “Sorry, this kitten is already spoken for.” I really hope that the pictures of the other ones come soon. We might get one.

Also, I was able to try out some dance classes while I was in town. I was excited when 7:30 finally rolled around. I got to be around kids my age that live in the new town we are moving to!! I was so happy. All of the girls were really nice and welcoming to me. I did hip-hop, ballet and jazz. Jazz was fun for me because it was sort of a challenge. I’m going to work on the stuff that we learned so I can stay in that class and not go in the other jazz class.

That’s all for today — tune in for more shenanigans!!

All About Me

Hi, my name is Kaitlyn. I’m 13 years old and I love to sing, dance and act! My favorite thing to do ever is read! My favorite book in the whole wide world is The Hunger Games, followed by the Divergent series, and The Mortal Instruments.

Also, I love to help out with little kids. I want to be a teacher when I grow up!! Another thing I like to do is go on Instagram and post pictures of my cats. (The account is @mcdcats if you want to folllow it.) I have two cats named Charlie and Napoleon.

I also have a  brother who is in college (UT). He is going to be majoring in film, and maybe one day he will hit the big time. Untill then I guess he is stuck just going to the movies gathering ideas for when he is in the big time. I also like to make crafts, like little charms and paintings. I also like to take pictures. Oh, and did I mention I am homeschooled? Subsribe to me for more of my shenanigans!
